RED TIGER Reading Incentive Program: Students have the opportunity to earn prizes for recording the amount of independent reading they do. Each class has a goal for the number of hours the students will read. In addition, the school has a goal for the total number of hours all students will read. This year's goal is: 15,000 hours! We can do it!
RIF (Reading Is Fundamental): This program enables us to give new books to every child in the school. There are 3 distributions of pleasure books throughout the year. Each distribution is celebrated with a special event.
SUCCESSMAKER Math: An individualized, computer generated program that monitors student progress on math skills. Students work at their own pace and are able to progress as far as they can each year.
TITLE 1: This is a Federally sponsored program that enables the school to provide remedial tutoring in reading and math. Students are selected based on need. Parents are notified when their child is eligible to receive this service.
PTO: An active organization of parents that support the programs of our school. The PTO sponsors fundraising activities as well as family fun events. The PTO helps support cultural programs and field trips with the money they earn. The PTO meets on the same calendar as the Board of Education. PTO meetings begin at 6:00 P.M. in the elementary school media center.
