Transportation/ Bus Information
The Thompson Public Schools transportation policy include some important concerns and rules:
Ø
All bus stops will be based
on the students address unless I am notified on or before August 1st
(923-1053). Once a pick up and drop off point
are made they will remain in effect for the year. If the bus arrangements
require a permanent change,
parents/guardians must notify the school in writing.
Ø
Preschool and
Kindergarten students will not be dropped off
unless a parent/adult/or child 16 years of age
or older is visible to the driver. All persons responsible for the child
will be listed on an emergency form at the school.
Ø
For MS and HS students
there will be after school buses available for students involved in these
programs.
Ø
MOST after school activities, recreation programs, boy scouts, girl scouts, birthday parties at a friend's home and dance programs will not be eligible for transportation. Students
will need to go home or be picked up at the appropriate school by their parent.
Ø
Permanent day care (I will need to know these locations) and the library program will have transportation.
Ø
Telephone calls will be
accepted in extreme emergencies for a different drop-off for that day. (The
principal will determine the existence of an emergency.)
Ø
Bus transportation must
be consistent from week to week. (I cannot work student transportation on
parents swing shift needs. The children are our main concern and consistency is
necessary for a safe travel year.)
Any questions of concerns,
please call me at 1-860-923-1053. If I am not in leave a message, as I will get
back to you as soon as possible.
